At 19, Jennifer has learned to rebuild her world one challenge at a time. When the coronavirus pandemic forced schools online, she adapted to virtual learning with the help of her guardian, Mennah, who took her in after she lost her left arm to a chronic ulcer infection. Left-handed before the amputation, Jennifer had to teach herself to write and draw with her right hand. Within just two months, she mastered it, a testament to her determination. Her touchscreen laptop has become an essential tool, making it easier to study, especially on days when her arm aches. Recently, Jennifer’s school introduced a STEM program that sparked her interest in technology. She has since written code for simple video games and is now working on an innovative device that emits a beep when social distancing rules are breached in public spaces
