One place to license creative work
The ATLAS Marketplace lists images and written work, such as stories and essays, from African creators. Each work shows its creator and the price of each licence.
Explore the MarketplaceFind work for your project
Search by keyword or category. Switch between images and stories. Open a creator's page to see more of their work. Written work shows a preview, and the creator decides how much you can read.
The file opens when your licence is active.
How licensing works
Four steps. No account needed.
Step 1: Choose a work
Open a work and read what each licence covers.
Step 2: Choose a licence
Pick the use, the term and the territory that fit your project. Need a use that is not listed? Select “Ask for a price”.
Step 3: Pay online
Prices show in naira in Nigeria and in dollars elsewhere. Enter your email and a name for the licence. You see the total before you pay.
Step 4: Get your licence
We email you a link to your licence page. Download the file there. The page shows who the licence is for, the term, the dates and your receipt.
Add the links where you use the work. Your licence page keeps the list. Renew from the same page when the term ends.
A licence says what you can do
Each licence names the use, the term and the territory. The creator sets them. Open “What this license covers” on any work to read them.
Licences come in types such as Editorial, Commercial and Advertising. Open a work to see which types the creator offers.
- A licence is non-exclusive, unless the creator offers an exclusive one.
- A licence starts at one year. Some creators offer longer terms.
- It applies worldwide, unless the creator sets a territory.
- You cannot resell, sublicense or transfer it.
- AI training is not part of any licence.
- The creator keeps the copyright. You get the right to use the work as the licence states.
- Credit the creator as the licence states.
What you pay
The price on a work is the creator's price. ATLAS adds a 5% buyer fee. You see the total on the pay button before you pay.
