The road to Kakara

Most people who pass here are so consumed by the prospects of the destination, that they fail to notice the excellence of the journey, and the uniqueness of the trail. I couldn’t ignore it, and after seeing where this road led, I was glad I took the time to enjoy the simple joys of the road. The green field up ahead is Nigeria's biggest highland tea plantation. It is an amazing place, and thousands of people have endured the difficult journey up the Mambilla plateau just to see it. All of them tell tales of the plantation with loads of pictures to prove, but very few remember what the road to Kakara looks, or feels like. This image was taken on my first of many trips to Kakara, before I ever set eyes on the plantation itself. And till today, I find the view of this road from this spot more impressive than the plantation itself. We miss out on a lot when we focus only on the destination. should all try to enjoy the road sometimes.
